PetVet Care Centers’ Regional Veterinary Referral Center in Springfield, VA, is hiring a Technician Supervisor (Rotating Shift). You will lead medical technical staff, schedule the department, and ensure high patient care standards.

The facility operates 24/7 with on‑site MRI/CT capabilities and a strong specialty team. Ideal candidates bring RVT/LVT/CVT license, 8+ years veterinary experience (3+ in emergency/specialty), and a commitment to a culture of care.

Qualifications

• Must hold RVT/LVT/CVT license in good standing.
• 8+ years veterinary experience, minimum 3 years in an emergency and/or specialty hospital.
• High School Diploma or the equivalent.
• 18 years of age or older.

Responsibilities

• Maintain processes for effective medical record keeping and billing.
• Collect and process work charts.
• Assist with entering in-patient charges and/or procedures performed in billing system.
• Ensure invoices are sent monthly and as requested by clients and doctors.
• Process payments and monthly statements.
• Resolve escalated financial problems with clients, collecting delinquent accounts and NSF checks; determines when special financial agreements are appropriate.
• Assist with monitoring and reporting on accounts receivable.
• Prepare, print and mail invoice or statement copies for customers as requested.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Position Overview

Join our team as a Technician Supervisor who performs the duties of medical technical staff (e.g., technicians and assistants) as well as scheduling and supervising the staff of the assigned department. Expedites the care and efficiency of the department. In charge of patient care standards for the department. Must lead the team by example, demonstrating organizational skills, following company policies, and maintaining a professional attitude.

When a primary care veterinarian is unavailable and a pet's life is on the line, the Regional Veterinary Referral Center in Springfield, VA is where Northern Virginia, DC, and Maryland families turn. Open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week since 1985, the emergency and critical care team is specially trained in triage and emergency medicine, supported by one of only a few facilities in the Mid-Atlantic region to offer on-site MRI and CT scan capabilities. Backed by ten specialty departments and board-certified specialists across oncology, surgery, internal medicine, neurology, dermatology, cardiology, and rehabilitation, the emergency team has the full depth of the hospital's expertise behind them on every critical case.

Key Responsibilities

Qualifications (Required)

• Applicants must be 18 years of age or older to be considered for this position


• High School Diploma or the equivalent.


• Current Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT/LVT/CVT) license in good standing


• 8+ years Veterinary Experience, minimum 3 years in an emergency and/or specialty hospital

Preferred Skills (Nice To Have)

• Strong knowledge of emergency medicine, anesthesia, surgery, triage, and critical care nursing.


• Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and develop veterinary nursing staff.


• Excellent communication, conflict resolution, and client service skills.


• Proven ability to prioritize workflow and make sound decisions in a fast-paced emergency environment.


• Experience with staff scheduling, performance coaching, and accountability.


• Proficiency with veterinary practice management software and electronic medical records.


• Commitment to fostering a positive team culture, patient safety, and continuous quality improvement.

Schedule

Ability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and participate in on-call leadership responsibilities as needed

Pay Range

$31—$42 USD
