We are seeking a Senior Communications Technician to provide regional telecommunications support. This role requires a highly motivated individual capable of working independently to support a wide range of communication systems across a large geographic area. Responsibilities include:

  1. Installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of communication systems such as voice, data, SCADA, video, microwave, and satellite equipment, along with supporting infrastructure.
  2. Assisting project teams with system implementation.
  3. Managing local contractors engaged in telecommunications system installation and maintenance.
  4. Providing support and initial training to field operations personnel.
  5. Serving as the first point of contact between field operations and the IT organization.
  6. Driving field standards and providing feedback to the engineering team.
  7. Providing 24/7 on-call support.
  8. Travel up to 50% as required.

The ideal candidate will meet the following minimum qualifications:

  • High school diploma or G.E.D.
  • Associate's degree in Electronics or 7 years of equivalent experience.
  • FCC license (preferred).
  • Network certification such as CCNA (a plus).
  • 7 years of experience in telecommunications system installation and maintenance, including wireless data, SCADA, and LAN cabling.
  • Experience with phone systems and microwave communications is advantageous.
  • Ability to utilize test equipment and support software in the field.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks.
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills with internal and external teams.
  • Physical ability to work outdoors and operate a motor vehicle safely.
