The Jane Bancroft Cook Library at New College of Florida is seeking a detail-oriented and service-focused Resource Sharing Technician to support interlibrary loan and document delivery services. This role plays a vital part in facilitating access to materials across a wide network of libraries and ensuring timely, accurate fulfillment of resource requests for patrons and partner institutions. ,
Key Responsibilities
- Process borrowing and lending requests via interlibrary loan platforms (e.g., OCLC, ILLiad, RapidILL, UBorrow system).
- Verify bibliographic data using library databases and catalogs.
- Communicate with library users and partner institutions regarding request statuses, policies, and delivery timelines.
- Prepare, package, and ship materials to borrowing institutions following established procedures.
- Assist will all interlibrary loan and UBorrow that require scanning and delivering articles uploading articles through the RapidILL system to ensure that the articles and resources are shared in a timely manner.
- Keep open lines of communication and communicate effectively with lending and borrowing libraries via e-mail regarding loans and scans of materials
- Properly processes material in the ALMA, RAPIDILL, etc. requests by downloading, uploading, scanning, or retrieving materials
- Receive, check in, and process materials from lending libraries for local patrons.
- Maintain accurate records of transactions and statistics for reporting purposes.
- Assist in troubleshooting delivery issues and resolving overdue or damaged item cases.
- Ensure that state practices for resource sharing are followed and keep up to date with best practices.
- Ensure compliance with copyright laws and licensing agreements when sharing digital materials and supporting interlibrary loan services.
- Support access services and circulation desk functions as needed.
- Support library and campus events and exhibits.

Required
- High school diploma or Associate’s degree
- Bachelor's degree or one year completed of MLIS degree preferred
- 1–2 years of experience in a library or resource-sharing environment.
- Familiarity with library systems (e.g., OCLC, Alma, Primo, ILLiad).
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.

- Experience with academic or public library interlibrary loan services.
- Knowledge of copyright guidelines and interlibrary loan best practices.
- Technical proficiency with library databases and scanning software/hardware.
