Job summary

Mark Anthony Group is seeking a Laboratory Technician to perform routine lab and packaging analyses on raw materials, in-process and finished products, ensuring quality and specifications are sustained.

This role requires attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and proficiency with lab equipment such as Alcolyzer and HPLC. 21+ years old and willingness to work rotating shifts are expected.

Qualifications

  • High School or Associate’s degree or 1+ year’s applicable experience required.
  • Laboratory/beverage manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Must be at least 21 years old.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine lab analysis on raw materials, in-process and finished goods.
  • Audit production processes to ensure specs are met and quality is maintained.
  • Operate and maintain lab equipment (Alcolyzer, DMA, pH meters, GC, HPLC, spectrophotometer).
  • Follow Good Laboratory Practices and maintain clean, safe workspace.
  • Document results clearly and assist with troubleshooting and root-cause analysis.

Role Purpose:

The Laboratory Technician will perform routine lab and packaging analysis on raw materials samples, product samples, both in-process and finished, to ensure quality and specifications are sustained. The Laboratory Technician works with a high attention to detail and a sense of urgency in a fast-paced environment. This role will work closely with all departments, particularly Brewing and Packaging. The Laboratory Technician will operate and maintain various lab equipment/instrumentation along with following all laboratory SOPs.

Accountabilities & Impact:

  • Perform routine analysis and provide timely and accuratedatato all departments.
  • Evaluatefinished goods qualityand audit processes throughout productionto ensure all specs are met and plant is operating within desired parameters.
  • Proficient in Good Lab Practices,keepinga clean and safe laboratory.
  • Proficient in Good Documentation Practices throughout the laboratory and all other departments.
  • Learn and understand processes throughout the facility to better assist with troubleshooting, determining root cause, isolating and dispositioning holds.
  • Assist in managing non-conforming products, including escalations,to ensure they are not released without further analysis and Quality Manager approval.
  • Help to develop quality information records and display data clearlyand effectively.
  • Follows all Standard Operating Procedures and established workflows.
  • Operate and maintain lab equipment/instrumentation, not limited to Alcolyzer, DMA, pH meters,titrations,GC, HPLC, spectrophotometer, etc.
  • Skillful withfollowing procedures on how to properly use, clean, and verifyinstrumentation.
  • Prioritize work in a fast-paced environment to limit downtime and keep operations moving.
  • Proficient in general computer skills such as email, Excel,Wordandusing internet-based applications.
  • Supportlaboratory inventory.
  • Support theSensoryProgramif trained and approved.
  • Participate in the Safety Programs to ensuresafe operations for yourself and peers.
  • Participate intheFood Safety Program to ensure product integrity and food safety.

Skills & Experiences Needed:

  • High School or associate’s degree or 1+ year’s applicable experience required.
  • Laboratory and/or beverage manufacturing experience in food/carbonated beverage/alcohol preferred.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Willing to work rotating shifts, overtime, and occasional weekends/holidays.
  • Strong analytical skills. Demonstrate attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Knowledge of good laboratory practices, including sample prep, handling and record keeping.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize work while multitasking.
  • Demonstrate motivation and a good work ethic under minimal supervision.
  • Must work effectively in team environments.
  • Proficient with basic computer applications, including Excel, Microsoft Office, and Word.
  • Statistical process control skills and use of statistical analysis software preferred.
