North Sky Communications is seeking a Quality Control Field Technician in Rio Dell, CA to perform on-site inspections and tests, ensuring installations meet design specs and safety codes. You will partner with field crews to verify workmanship and document results.

In this role you’ll review engineering plans, conduct milestone inspections, report issues promptly, and support project timelines across diverse weather conditions and job sites.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Authorized to work in the United States.
• Valid State driver's license with acceptable driving record.
• One year of relevant work experience in QC or field inspection.
• Associates Degree or equivalent work experience.
• Knowledge of telecommunication construction industry standards.
• Knowledge of Customer Installation Standards and Documentation.

Responsibilities

• Field Inspections: conduct routine inspections during installation to verify alignment with plans and safety codes.
• Final Quality Checks: perform customer-requested final inspections to confirm project quality.
• Issue Resolution: identify defects or non-compliance and coordinate fixes with field teams.
• Testing & Documentation: execute field tests and maintain precise records to resolution.
• Field Leadership: support project timelines and milestones across various sites and weather conditions.
• Other duties as assigned

What you’ll do

Field Inspections: Conduct routine and milestone inspections during installation to verify work aligns with engineering plans, specifications, and safety codes. Assist the field team with additional tasks needed to complete the project.

Final Quality Checks: Perform thorough customer-requested final inspections to sign off on overall project quality and standard compliance.

Issue Resolution: Spot defects, non-compliance, or safety hazards early; report findings clearly and collaborate with field teams to fix issues promptly.

Testing & Documentation: Ensure all required field tests are executed correctly, maintain precise record-keeping, and track issues to full resolution.

Field Leadership: Support project timelines, track key milestones, and maintain high standards across all weather conditions and job sites.

What you’ll need

• To be 18 years of age or older
• Authorization to work in the United States for this company
• Valid State driver's license (cannot be Provisional), including an acceptable driving record
• One year of relevant work experience
• Quality control experience preferred
• Associates Degree in an industry related field or equivalent work experience
• Knowledge and understanding of the telecommunication construction industry standard practices
• Knowledge of Customer Installation Standards and Documentation

Physical abilities & exposures

• Routinely: work alone in remote locations, operate vehicle, squeeze, bend, stoop, stand, walking, climb stairs, use keyboard and mouse
• Occasionally: work at heights, use ladder, life greater than 55 pounds, use construction equipment such as shovels (flat head and round point), spades, pickaxes, mattocks, post-hole diggers, and tampers for soil compaction.

The wage range for Technician Quality Control Field is$27.00 - $32.00.
