Job description

Prince Telecom - Technician Quality Control (Fiber Optics)

Prince Telecom is seeking a Technician Quality Control (Fiber Optics) to join our team and help connect America!

Pay Range: $20-$22/hr

Job Type: Full Time

Responsibilities:

1. Work on-site with the crews daily (in varied weather conditions).
2. Ensure correct depths and placement of fiber.
3. Check sequential numbers (numbers every two feet stamped into cabling).
4. Ensure the correct number of pedestals/handholes, among other things, are installed correctly and in the desired locations.
5. Assist in the establishment of schedules and cost expenditures tracking.
6. Prepare reports/documents and maintain project records.
7. Resolve design and staking sheet problems during construction, and interpret company guidelines for specific applications when necessary.
8. Provide quality control to ensure construction/engineering standards and specifications are followed.
9. Interact with landowners, permit agencies, and other company departments.

Minimum Requirements:

• Valid driver's license (required)
• Minimum age 18 years old
• Some knowledge of telecommunication engineering/construction practices
• Ability to read schematics, maps, and work prints (staking sheets)
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office and basic computer skills
• Previous work in telecom preferred
• Capable of performing physical motions such as bending, standing, climbing, and walking on uneven terrain (in varied weather conditions)
• Willing to work overtime as needed
• US Citizenship or Permanent Resident status required
