Graphic Packaging International is seeking a Quality Control Technician to join our Chicago team. The role focuses on auditing printing, cutting and finishing processes to determine acceptable quality levels, aligning operations with our SQF procedures and customer expectations.

The ideal candidate will set up the spectrophotometer daily, sample quality from production floors, and maintain thorough documentation to support continuous improvement and production efficiency.

This job posting is for a Quality Control Technician with a pay range of $22.75 and $31.22/hour plus shift differential and progressive pay increases. JOB SUMMARY: The person who occupies this position will primarily be responsible for determining the acceptable quality levels in the Printing, Cutting, and Finishing departments through auditing, sampling and observation. They understand and align business operations and Quality Department as he/she executes their role to exceed customer expectations and align with GPI business, cultural, financial and operational objectives.

JOB FUNCTIONS

Job functions include, but are not limited to the following.

• Conducts audits on each piece of machinery in the printing, cutting and finishing departments using the quality assurance check list.
• Sets up Spectrophotometer daily and other tests on an as needed basis.
• Pulls quality customer samples from production floor or warehouse daily.
• Makes Customer sample books when needed.
• Performs various office work, including filing and logging of information and statistics.

• Follow all Plant rules, Processes, Hygiene, and Allergens procedures, related toproductionof Safe Quality Foods.

• Report to person of authority to record any potentially unsafe conditions which may result in unsafe foods or noncompliance to SQF related procedures.

• Participate in SQF Root Cause and Corrective Actions (from customer complaints, SQF audits, validation, and verification activities) asrequired.

• Follow all procedures related to producing Safe Quality Foods (SQF).

• Report any potentially unsafe SQF conditions or customer complaints to a person of authority to record and/or correct the situation.
