Job summary

Trojan Battery Company is seeking a Quality Assurance Technician to perform quality control checks and ensure products meet safety, efficiency, and quality standards. You will report on product quality to the QA team and provide feedback to improve processes while following all safety requirements and PPE guidelines.

The role focuses on dock audits, record inspection, test result documentation, and reporting questionable items to management for disposition.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Some formal QA training is preferred.
• Three years of manufacturing/plant experience.
• Good writing and communication skills are essential.
• Ability to use hand tools and learn machine controls.
• Understand specifications and labels for hazardous materials.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Maintain Quality Assurance Department records (hard and electronic).
• Perform simple quality tests and inspections (casting/pasting, curing released, voltage, gravity).
• Perform acid receiving analysis and load acceptance.
• Perform battery autopsy analysis and identify failure modes.
• Assist QA Engineer with data collection and analysis.
• Understand the battery manufacturing process from receiving through shipping.
• Review circuit tending paperwork.
• Troubleshoot conditions affecting product quality.
• Make recommendations for equipment adjustments.
• Fully perform QA procedures in all plant and shipping areas.
• Perform electrical testing/analysis of all battery types.
• Be a responsible individual with a strong work ethic.
• Be available for various shifts and overtime.

Position Overview

Quality Assurance Technician performs quality control checks on products to ensure they meet standards for safety, efficiency and quality. Quality Assurance Technician ensures products leave facility and meet expectations for consumers and distributors. Quality Assurance Technician will report on product quality and efficiencies to Quality team and provide suggestions and feedback when necessary. Quality Assurance Technician will follow all safety requirements and use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

Areas of Focus
