Summary
Assists the licensed nursing staff in the delivery of quality patient care. Provides direct patient care, monitors patient behavior, promotes a therapeutic environment, and communicates changes in the patient's condition to the charge nurse. This position is under the direct supervision of the registered nurse. Performs other duties as assigned.

Provides direct patient care, monitors patient behavior, promotes a therapeutic environment, and communicates changes in the patient's condition to the charge nurse. This position is under the direct supervision of the registered nurse. Performs other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Provides and/or assists in direct patient care under the supervision of the appropriate staff member.
• Assists with the admission process of all patients.
• Provides/promotes a safe therapeutic environment.
• Maintains a clean and wholesome atmosphere for patients.
• Participates in ongoing education.
• Facilitates and serves as group leader as assigned.
• Completes assigned goals.

Requirements, Preferences, and Experience

Education

• Preferred: Bachelor's degree in a mental health-related field.
• Minimum: Skill in communicating clearly and effectively using standard English in written, oral, and verbal formats to achieve high productivity and efficiency. Skill to write legibly and record information accurately as necessary to perform job duties.

Experience

• Preferred: Previous work experience in behavioral health (mental health worker or psychiatric technician).

Licensure, Registration, Certification

• Preferred: CNA
• Minimum: BLS certification within 14 days of hire date

Special Skills

• Minimum: Computer literacy.
