The Propane Service Technician at Campbell Oil Company will install, maintain, and repair propane systems for residential, commercial, and agricultural customers in Elizabethtown, NC. You will work independently in the field, upholding safety standards and professional conduct while serving diverse clients.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2+ years propane service or gas installation experience preferred.
• Valid driver's license with clean driving record.
• Current CETP certification or ability to obtain within 6 months.
• Strong mechanical, troubleshooting, and diagnostic skills.
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work outdoors in various conditions.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair propane systems including tanks, regulators, piping, appliances, and related equipment.
• Perform leak checks, pressure tests, and safety inspections on new and existing systems.
• Conduct tank set installations (above-ground and underground), ensuring compliance with clearance and code requirements.
• Replace or adjust regulators, valves, and pigtails as needed.
• Install and service propane-fueled appliances such as water heaters, ranges, and heating systems.
• Respond to out-of-gas calls, leak reports, and emergency service requests in a timely, professional manner.
• Document all service activities accurately — including test results, tank serial numbers, and work performed.
• Educate customers on safe propane use, odor recognition, and emergency procedures.
• Maintain company tools, equipment, and service truck in safe working order.
• Comply with company safety policies, OSHA standards, and all state and federal regulations.
• Participate in ongoing training and certification programs (CETP, state licensing, safety refreshers).

Essential Job Functions:

• Perform leak checks, pressure tests, and safety inspections on new and existing systems.

Field-based role with regular exposure to outdoor weather conditions.
