Job Summary

Packaging Technician role offers a diverse range of responsibilities to team members looking to immerse themselves in all areas of L1 packaging, including palletizer and packaging operator positions. Operating each week under a rotating schedule allows each team member to contribute in several aspects benefiting our CBN goals weekly. This safety‑focused, team‑oriented, and target‑driven position provides a solid career path for future leaders of Lamb Weston.

Responsibilities

• Actively participate in Lamb Weston Safety and Good Manufacturing Practice programs.
• Conduct packaging quality checks per procedure and on request of the Packaging Lead, Team Leader Production, Team Leader Quality, Team Leader Area Production, and Line Structure Team.
• Perform Daily Management System standards per schedule, including CILs, FSILs, CLs, and defect handling.
• Operate cohesively with Line 1 Packaging Technician team members in managing the Line 1 packaging area, including the L1 transfer room, frozen and Bio‑Print sorters, L1 Ishidas, Lambpaks, case sealers, interstitial room, and the palletizer.
• Engage in scheduled AMD activities.
• Drive forklift to transport dry supply and wooden pallets to the line.
• Perform quality checks including metal detector checks, backseal checks, bag codes, and bag seals.
• Perform daily sanitation and basic housekeeping of the packaging room area.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• 1–2 years of experience in food manufacturing or a related field preferred.
• Must be able to communicate, comprehend, and follow instructions in English, both written and oral.
• Functions well in a team environment.
• Demonstrates capable troubleshooting and critical‑thinking skills.
• Basic proficiency in PC skills: Windows, Word, and Excel.
• Trained and qualified in L1 Bio‑Print, L1 Frozen Sorters, L1 packaging operations, and palletizer positions.
• Sanitation qualification required; additional training will be provided.
• Lock‑out/Tag‑out qualified (training will be provided if needed).
• Read, understand, and adhere to plant rules and safety policies as specified in the Lamb Weston Employee Handbook.
• Practice proper body mechanics and safe lifting techniques.

Physical Requirements

Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and to stand, walk, bend, stoop, twist, and turn frequently. Exposed to a noisy environment that varies from hot to cold temperatures. Must perform repetitious arm, wrist, and hand movements and work with hands and arms overhead or in or under equipment. Specific vision abilities required include close, distance, peripheral, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Pay

Estimated hourly rate: $26.59
