Job summary

Lamb Weston is seeking a Packaging Machine Operator in Twin Falls, ID to operate, monitor, and adjust packaging equipment while upholding safety, food safety, quality, and production standards.

The role includes monitoring sanitation, ink-jet coding, bagging lines, dopant equipment, and sealing processes; performing metal detector checks; and maintaining accurate production records. Qualifications include a GED or high school diploma and relevant certifications.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor packaging line sanitation, ink-jet coder, bagger operation, Dyna-pack operation, settlers and case sealers.
  • Perform routine metal detector checks to ensure proper function of metal detectors.
  • Monitor line flow rates and proper feed of product through baggers.
  • Monitor and adjust vibrators to optimize bagger performance.
  • Record packaging machinery efficiencies, downtime, and complete reports accurately.
  • Ensure complete packaging quality by weighing, sealing, codes, and glue patterns.

Job Description Summary

This position operates, monitors and adjusts the packaging equipment in a manner consistent with safety, food safety, quality, and production standards.

Job Description
  • Monitors Line Sanitation, Ink‑jet coder, Bagger operation, Dyna‑pack operation, Settlers and Case sealers
  • Performs routine metal detector checks to ensure proper function of metal detectors.
  • Monitors line flow rates. Including regular checks for proper feed of product through baggers.
  • Monitors and adjust vibrators to gain optimum bagger performance.
  • Orders packaging material
  • Ensures proper container sizing
  • Records packaging machinery efficiencies, downtime, and fills out reports accurately and correctly.
  • Responsible for ensuring complete packaging quality of product taking regular checks or weights, seals codes, glue patterns, etc.
  • Complete CIL’s and centerlines.
  • Participates in AMD Drumbeats.
  • Reworks product when necessary.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Basic & Preferred Qualifications
Education/ Certifications:
  • High School Diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred
  • Lock‑out/Tag‑out, Forklift, and Sanitation certification are required. If you are not qualified, you will be trained and must meet certification requirements.
Skills And Experience
  • Effectively communicate in English verbally and in writing. Ability to understand instructions and follow directions in English, both written and oral. (Requirement may vary by location).
  • Experience driving forklift in warehouse or manufacturing establishment preferred.
  • Must be able to be qualified within time frames established by facility.
  • Ability to perform basic math functions, required.
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have basic computer operation knowledge, data entry skills, and be proficient in Microsoft Office programs.
Physical Environment/Demands
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and to stand, walk, bend, stoop, twist and turn frequently.
  • Exposed to a noisy environment that varies from hot to cold in temperature
  • Exposure to manufacturing environments for up to 8 hours per work day to include: loud noise, excessive heat, cold, wet, slippery conditions, dirt, fumes, smoke, smells and allergies
  • Ability to do repetitious arm, wrist and hand movements required for job actions and procedures.
  • Must be able to work with hands and arms overhead, and to work in or under the equipment.
  • Requires manual dexterity, overall coordination and good balance to work both at ground level and in high places to perform job duties. Ability to operate work related equipment
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Exposed to temperatures ranging from -20 degrees below zero to 35 degrees Fahrenheit in Freezer Operation and 37 degrees to 90 degrees Fahrenheit in Plant Operation
  • May have to sample food while evaluating Lamb Weston products
  • Climbing to various heights via stairs or ladders on a regular basis
