Job summary

4over is seeking a Plating Technician for the Miami, FL area to ensure on-time creation and delivery of offset printing plates. You will operate CTP equipment, follow press schedules, and coordinate with the press crew to resolve discrepancies.

The role emphasizes safety, quality checks, and paperwork accuracy. The position requires 3rd shift hours (9:00 PM–5:00 AM as primary) and a background with Kodak Prinergy or similar systems.

Qualifications

• Six months to one year of related experience with printing plates.
• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent experience, preferred.
• Must read and understand job tickets and customer specifications.

Responsibilities

• Set up, configure and operate plating equipment (CTP)
• Access batching system to view press schedule and identify priority jobs
• Examine orders for quantity, stock specs, color and special instructions
• Liaise with press crew to troubleshoot plate-press issues
• Monitor supplies and report potential production issues affecting schedule

• Follow safety rules and wear PPE as required
• Attend department meetings and support other duties as assigned

Summary: The Plating Technician is responsible for the creation and on time delivery of offset printing plates to the Press Department, utilizing, maintaining and troubleshooting our Kodak Prinergy, Kodak Magnus Platesetter and Kimori machines.

Schedule:3rd shift, Sunday - Thursday, eight or more hours per day, five days per week based on business needs. Primary schedule will be 9:00 PM – 5:00 AM, or similar. Training may occur at other times.

Salary Range: $18.00 to $21.00 Hourly

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Set up, configure and operate the computer to print (CTP) plating equipment
• Access the batching system to view press schedule and identify priority jobs to be completed
• Examine job orders to determine quantity to be printed, stock specifications, color(s) and special printing instructions
• Liaise with press crew to identify and troubleshoot problems between plate and press
• Monitor department supplies and inform management of any potential production issues that may impact the press schedule
• Monitor equipment and performance ensuring optimum performance and for job quantity reporting along with defect and quality checks
• Complete and maintain all required paperwork, records, documents, etc.
• Ensure all equipment, tools, and workstation are in good working order and is free of safety hazards
• Report workplace hazards to management immediately
• Wear all assigned Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when required
• Report all work-related injuries, illnesses, and/or near misses to management immediately
• Follow and comply with all safety and work rules and regulations
• Regularly perform general housekeeping duties in your work area(s)
• Adhere to all safety policies and protocols and maintain a safe working environment
• Attend all department/company meetings
• Other duties as assigned

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION, LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCES:

• Six-months to one-year related experience with Kodak Prinergy, Kodak Magnus Platesetter, Kimori or similar brand of equipment
• High School Diploma or GED equivalency; or six-months to one-year related experience in a manufacturing environment and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience, preferred
