Job summary

4over is seeking a Die Cutting Operator to set up Cylinder Press, PMC Die Cutter, DCM Die Cutter, Windmills, or similar equipment with precise registration and cutting accuracy for each job.

You will review tickets, plan work, and run products to meet customer specifications while maintaining safety, quality, and on-time production. Shift is 2nd with 1:00 PM–9:00 PM, both training and duties described above.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED; preferred.
  • Six months to one year related experience with Cylinder Press, PMC Die Cutter, DCM Die Cutter, Windmills, or similar.
  • Ability to read job tickets and plan work processes to meet customer specs.
  • Strong math and measurement skills.

Responsibilities

  • Access the batching system to view batch lists and identify priority jobs for gang runs.
  • Review job tickets and plan work processes to meet customer specifications for custom jobs.
  • Set up assigned machines to specifications and run products as required.
  • Quality control of completed jobs and provide updates on status to the supervisor.
  • Make adjustments to maintain specifications and timely flow of materials.
  • Monitor machine registration and cut/scoring accuracy during runs.
  • Unload machine and stack materials on pallets.
  • Complete paperwork and prepare shift-change setup and handoffs.
  • Observe safety policies and wear PPE; participate in safety culture.

Job description

Summary

The Die Cutting Operator is responsible for the setup on the Cylinder Press, PMC Die Cutter, DCM Die Cutter, Windmills, or similar as well as the adjustment and safe operation of all die cutting equipment to produce a quality finished product that meets customer specifications and quality standards.

Schedule

2nd shift, Monday - Friday, eight or more hours per day, five days per week based on business needs. Primary schedule will be 1:00 PM – 9:00 PM, or similar. Training may occur at other times.

Compensation

Salary Range: $17.00 To 20.00 Hourly. Compensation commensurate with experience.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Access the batching system to view batch lists and identify priority jobs to be completed for gang runs
  • Review job tickets and plan work processes to meet customer specifications for custom jobs
  • Ensure equipment is ready, set up assigned machine(s) to specifications and run products as required
  • Quality control of completed jobs, providing updates on job status and schedule to the supervisor
  • Make adjustments as needed to maintain specifications and timely flow of materials
  • Monitor assigned machine during run to ensure machine is maintaining the proper registration and proper cut and scoring specifications
  • Unload machine and stack materials on pallets
  • Ensure the completion of jobs meeting quality and quantity requirements
  • Troubleshoot machine problems, resolve if possible, notifying Supervisor or Plant Management
  • Maintain proper machine maintenance and lubrication
  • Remove recycled paper and unload scrap trailer
  • Ensure completion of assignments by meeting quality/quantity specifications and requirements
  • Complete and process all required paperwork, records, documents, etc.
  • Ensure set up is complete for shift change
  • Actively remove waste items for recycling

  • Regularly perform general housekeeping duties in your work area(s)
  • Adhere to all safety policies and protocols and maintain a safe working environment
  • Assist in cultivating an interdependent safety culture by reporting workplace hazards, related injuries, illnesses and or/near misses to management immediately
  • Attend all department/company meetings
  • Wear all assigned Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when required
  • Other duties as assigned

Experience and Qualifications
Education, Licenses, Certifications, and Experience
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalency, preferred

  • Problem-Solving and Adaptability: Strong problem-solving skills when faced with unexpected challenges, such as machine malfunctions, material shortages, or errors in print quality. Ability to adapt to new printing technologies or changes in production schedules, ensuring smooth operations despite changes.
  • Time Management & Efficiency: Ability to manage multiple print jobs simultaneously, ensuring deadlines are met without sacrificing quality. Organizing workflows, preparing materials in advance, and optimizing print runs for efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
  • Attention to Detail: Precision in monitoring print jobs to ensure all details, such as color accuracy, image sharpness, and print placement, meet the required standards. Detecting small defects or inconsistencies during production and taking corrective action immediately.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to read and understand corporate policies, job-related documents, and written/verbal instructions in English to ensure effective and compliant job performance.
  • Strong foundational math skills, with the ability to perform basic operations including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
  • Highly detail-oriented, organized, and efficient in managing time, with a proven ability to meet deadlines and complete tasks accurately.
