Baptist Memorial Health in Memphis, TN seeks a Pharmacy Technician to support pharmaceutical care under pharmacist supervision. Responsibilities include processing medication orders, preparing dispensed medications, stocking patient care areas and contributing to quality programs.

Preferred candidates have PTCB certification, CPhT, and state registration, with hospital experience. Proficiency in English and familiarity with automation equipment are pluses.

Qualifications

Responsabilités

• Practice the Medication-Use Process: procure, handle, prepare, distribute, charge/credit and dispose of medications safely and accurately.
• Manage own pharmacy practice effectively.
• Participate in inventory management when applicable.
• Use and maintain automation/equipment.
• Provide education and training as appropriate.
• Process and prepare sterile products for dispensing.
• Contribute to goals, programs and report cards for the unit and entity.
• Complete assigned goals.

Job Summary

Works under the direct supervision of the pharmacist in providing pharmaceutical care services, while considering patient specific factors. This could be through the prioritization and processing of medication orders, the preparing of medications for dispensing, distribution and stocking of patient care locations for subsequent drug administration. Performs data collections, assembly and interpretation for limited quality programs. Performs other duties as assigned

Minimum Required

• Advanced competencies in any of the following: 1. Settings where the majority of the workload consists of gathering and processing patient / clinical information for prior authorizations, refill authorizations, or patient assistance applications. 2. High risk compounding, 3. Tech check tech 4. Med history 5. NICU/Pediatric 6. Other duties that require certification / program completion (i.e. Narcotic/ASHP Diversion Certification)

Preferred/Desired

• Experience with Microsoft suite applications, automated pharmacy equipment. One year hospital experience.

Education

Minimum Required

• Skills in communicating clearly and effective use of standard English in written, oral and verbal format. Skill to write legibly and record information accurately as necessary to perform job duties.
