Job summary

Baptist Memorial Health is seeking a pharmacy technician to support pharmacists in delivering patient‑centered pharmaceutical care. You will process medication orders, prepare and dispense medications, and assist with stocking at patient care locations while complying with safety and quality standards.

The role requires clear English communication, involvement with medication workflows, and potential participation in sterile product preparation and inventory tasks.

Qualifications

• Must have clear written and spoken English.
• PTCB certification or state board registration required; ACPE program enrollment acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Provides pharmaceutical care under pharmacist supervision, prioritizes and processes medication orders.
• Prepares medications for dispensing and assists with distribution and stocking for patient care locations.
• Performs data collection and interpretation for limited quality programs.
• Participates in inventory management and may operate automation/equipment.
• Provides education and training as appropriate.
• Assists in processing sterile products for dispensing and supports operational goals.

Job Summary

This could be through the prioritization and processing of medication orders, the preparing of medications for dispensing, distribution and stocking of patient care locations for subsequent drug administration. Performs data collections, assembly and interpretation for limited quality programs. Performs other duties as assigned

Responsibilities

• May practices the Medication-Use Process: Procures, handles, prepares, distributes, charges/credits and disposes of medication safely and accurately.
• Manages own pharmacy practice effectively.
• May participates in inventory management.
• May use and maintain automation/equipment.
• Provides education/training as appropriate.
• May be involved in processing and preparing sterile products for dispensing.
• Contributes to goals, programs and report cards for operational unit and entity.
• Completes assigned goals.

Experience

Minimum Required

• Advanced competencies in any of the following: 1. Settings where the majority of the workload consists of gathering and processing patient / clinical information for prior authorizations, refill authorizations, or patient assistance applications. 2. High risk compounding, 3. Tech check tech 4. Med history 5. NICU/Pediatric 6. Other duties that require certification / program completion (i.e. Narcotic/ASHP Diversion Certification)

Preferred/Desired

• Experience with Microsoft suite applications, automated pharmacy equipment. One year hospital experience.

Minimum Required

• Skills in communicating clearly and effective use of standard English in written, oral and verbal format. Skill to write legibly and record information accurately as necessary to perform job duties.
