Job summary

Baptist Memorial Health is seeking a dedicated patient care aide to support RNs in delivering compassionate care in Oxford, Mississippi. You will assist with basic tasks under RN supervision and help ensure patient safety and comfort through routine activities and mobility support.

Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma or equivalent, CNA/AEMT/MA certification options, and BLS within two weeks of hire.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• CNA program/certification or AEMT/Paramedic licensure or MA program/certification.
• BLS certification within 14 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Communicates and collaborates with the professional registered nurse.
• Performs patient care tasks under the direction of the RN including vital signs, blood glucose testing, phlebotomy, electrode placement, venous compression devices.
• Performs basic patient care services under the direction of the RN including height & weight, intake & output, retrieval of equipment & supplies, stocks patient rooms.
• Maintains a conducive environment for the patient including clutter-free rooms, removing linen/trash from rooms, quiet surroundings.
• Supports patient/family communication needs including answering call lights, orienting new patients to the room, assisting with discharge appointments.
• Promotes safety including assisting with patient mobility, safety rounds/4Ps.
• Promotes comfort including providing water, ice, cups, pillows, blankets, assistance with meals.
• Transports non-monitored patients.
• Assists RN with monitored and/or intubated transports.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
