**Job Summary**
Utilizes laboratory skills to perform and report results of clearly defined laboratory procedures, ensuring optimal patient outcomes. Responsible for assigned shifts and subject to overtime and call back as required. Performs other duties as assigned.

**Responsibilities**

• Receives, identifies, organizes, and prioritizes specimens to ensure accurate and timely test processing.
• Performs and reports requested laboratory procedures.
• Performs quality control, proficiency testing, routine instrument maintenance, and inventory control, documenting as required.
• Evaluates positive patient identification to reduce errors and adverse outcomes.
• Assesses, evaluates, and draws appropriate conclusions.
• Follows regulatory and safety requirements.
• Completes assigned goals.

**Specifications**
**Experience**
Minimum required: None specified. Preferred: Clinical laboratory experience.

**Education**
Minimum required: Associate degree in Medical Laboratory Technology from an accredited program or successful completion of a 50-week US military medical laboratory procedures training course with current or past Military Laboratory Specialist status. Preferred: Additional training or education.

**Training & Skills**
Preferred: Basic computer literacy.

**Licensure**
Minimum required: National certification in accordance with federal and/or state regulations. Full certification must be obtained within six months of hire.
