Job summary

FCC Environmental Services is seeking a skilled maintenance technician to perform a range of repairs on trucks and trailers in a NY-based fleet. The role emphasizes preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and accurate reporting to ensure DOT compliance and safe operation of all fleet vehicles.

The position requires hands-on mechanical skills, strong recordkeeping, and the ability to collaborate with a repair team to plan and execute repairs and maintenance tasks.

Responsibilities

• Performs minor and major repairs on trucks and trailers.
• Conducts regular preventative maintenance on service trucks, including inspection, tire rotation and oil changes.
• Collaborates with repair team to diagnose problems with vehicles and plan repairs.
• Maintains accurate records of each repair performed on vehicles.
• Responsible for repairing, modifying and performing preventative maintenance on applicable fleet vehicles.
• Responsible for all maintenance to the operation of equipment by completing all required preventive maintenance requirements.
• Troubleshoots and repairs mechanical malfunctions.
• Inspects fleet vehicles to ensure that all vehicles are DOT compliant to include brake maintenance.
• Completes all required daily reporting as required.
• Maintains equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory level.
• Prepares mechanical maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
• Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
• Adheres to strict safe work practices to comply with all Company, DOT and OSHA regulations
