Job summary

FCC Environmental Services, LLC is seeking a Second Shift Fleet Mechanic in Orlando to maintain and repair our truck and fleet equipment. You will perform preventive maintenance, diagnose complex mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and A/C issues, and document all work and inspections.

Join a safety‑driven team that values accuracy, collaboration with operations, and timely reporting. Requires 2+ years of fleet maintenance experience and the ability to read manuals and use diagnostic software.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of 2 years fleet maintenance experience.
  • Experience troubleshooting and repairing: Heavy-duty truck A/C systems, Hydraulic systems, Electrical systems.
  • Ability to read and understand technical manuals and repair documentation.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong troubleshooting, detail orientation, and safety focus.

Responsibilities

  • Perform repairs on trucks, trailers, and fleet equipment.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance services including inspections, tire rotations, fluid checks, and oil changes.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and A/C system issues.
  • Utilize diagnostic software and troubleshooting tools to identify equipment failures.
  • Perform DOT inspections and ensure vehicles comply with regulations.
  • Repair and maintain hydraulic systems, including pumps, valves, hoses, cylinders, etc.
  • Diagnose and repair electrical systems, wiring, lighting, starters, and ECUs.
  • Complete brake inspections and repairs.
  • Maintain maintenance records and monitor inventory levels.
  • Prepare maintenance reports by collecting and summarizing repair data.
  • Support fleet management and operations teams to meet goals.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
  • Follow all DOT, OSHA, and safety policies.
  • Complete required daily reporting and documentation.

Schedule Requirement

This is a Second Shift position. Candidates must be available to work Monday through Friday from 2:00 PM to10:00 PM.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
  • Perform minor and major repairs on trucks, trailers, and fleet equipment.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance services, including inspections, tire rotations, fluid checks, and oil changes.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and A/C system issues.
  • Utilize diagnostic software and troubleshooting tools to identify equipment failures.
  • Perform DOT inspections and ensure vehicles remain compliant with federal and state regulations.
  • Repair and maintain hydraulic systems, including pumps, valves, hoses, cylinders, and associated components.
  • Diagnose and repair electrical systems, including wiring, lighting, starters, alternators, batteries, and electronic control systems.
  • Complete brake inspections and repairs.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance and repair records.
  • Monitor inventory levels and assist with parts and supply management.
  • Prepare maintenance reports by collecting and summarizing repair data and trends.
  • Support operational goals by working collaboratively with fleet management and operations teams.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
  • Follow all Company, DOT, OSHA, and safety policies and procedures.
  • Complete all required daily reporting and documentation.
Required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of fleet maintenance experience.
  • Experience troubleshooting and repairing:

    • Electrical systems
  • Knowledge of preventive maintenance programs.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Senior-level fleet maintenance experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical and hydraulic schematics.
  • Experience using computerized diagnostic software and electronic troubleshooting equipment.
  • Welding and fabrication experience.
  • Previous experience working on refuse collection vehicles or heavy equipment.
