Electrical Maintenance Technician Job Description

The Electrical Maintenance Technician is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, problem-solving, and maintaining all electrical control systems for manufacturing equipment.

Key responsibilities include:

1. Testing all equipment and control functions of new controls established or designated by the First Solar Controls department.
2. Downloading new software changes/upgrades as specified by the Controls Department and maintaining current software databases for the Base Plant.
3. Assisting the IT Department with the setup, installation, and testing of all communication devices for PLCs.
4. Identifying, researching, preparing, and presenting solutions to control problems and continuous improvement projects.
5. Documenting and following up on control-related problems.
6. Providing all necessary written documentation for proper testing of projects submitted from the Controls Department.
7. Assisting new equipment commissioning technicians to verify correct and efficient testing of control systems.
8. Researching, preparing, and presenting solutions to various problems.
9. Interfacing with other company and supplier representatives.
10. Maintaining effective communication and fostering teamwork.
11. Adhering to all safety procedures and maintaining good housekeeping standards.
12. Collaborating effectively with other departments.
13. Performing predictive and preventative maintenance on production equipment.
14. Developing and implementing new electrical preventative maintenance tasks, procedures, and schedules.
15. Troubleshooting robotic, electrical, and mechanical systems.
16. Proficient in Maximo reporting and parts search.
17. Performing additional tasks as assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor or Lead.
