Job summary

SpartanNash is seeking a facilities maintenance professional in Grandville to keep our stores and facilities safe and compliant, repairing equipment and fixtures as needed. The role requires mechanical aptitude, communication skills, and the ability to manage inventories and work across multiple sites.

Responsibilities include supporting remodels, new openings, maintaining processes, and ensuring a clean, safe environment for associates and customers, with weekend/holiday hours as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate or Equivalent (GED).
• One year experience in electrical, plumbing, carpentry, etc.
• Experience with food equipment preferred.
• Good communication skills, written and verbal to communicate and document maintenance needs and status of projects.

Position Summary:

This role is responsible for the maintenance of facilities for an assigned facility and/or company retail stores; follow defined procedures and processes relating to repairs and/or replacements of equipment and fixtures.

Here’s what you’ll need:

• High School Graduate or Equivalent (GED)

• One year experience with a combination of electrical, plumbing, carpentry, etc.

• Experience with food equipment strongly preferred.

• Good communication skills, written and verbal to communicate and/or document maintenance needs and status of projects.

• Basic math, writing and computer skills related to mechanic aptitude/maintenance.

• Must have maintenance experience to include carpentry and plumping skills and a basic understanding of environmental issues.

• Prior experience in retail maintenance a plus.

• Must be able to organize and prioritize work assignments and meet established deadlines.

• Must perform assigned tasks accurately and completely.

• Must be flexible and able to handle changes in work requirements productively.

While performing the duties of this position, employees are subject to a warehouse environment and may frequently be exposed to changes in temperature and humidity based on assignment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high. Employees must be able to work weekends, holidays, days and night hours, and overtime as necessary and as assigned, and must be able to work in the condition specified for 8-10 hours shift as assigned. Travel requirements vary by assignment.
