Job summary

GEON Performance Solutions is seeking a Maintenance Technician to perform electrical and mechanical maintenance on facility equipment, focusing on uptime, safety, and reliability.

You will work off-shift (2nd or 3rd), use tools to troubleshoot and repair equipment, and participate in preventive maintenance while maintaining accurate work-order records in SAP.

Qualifications

  • Technical degree in industrial maintenance or industrial electricity preferred.
  • Experience in mechanical and electrical maintenance in a manufacturing environment.
  • High School Diploma/GED required.
  • Valid Driver's License required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance to support the facility budget and goals.
  • Multiskilled—handle mechanical and electrical maintenance tasks.
  • Complete projects with minimal guidance and minimize downtime.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical devices and equipment in operation.
  • Set up and operate maintenance equipment (lathe, drill press, grinders, bandsaw, cutting torch, welder).
  • Use hand and pneumatic tools to modify or repair parts/equipment.
  • Install, repair, or modify hydraulic and pneumatic systems as needed.
  • Improve reliability and uptime of equipment.
  • Adopt preventive maintenance mindset and take proactive approach to issues.
  • Operate forklift and hydraulic scissor lift as needed.
  • Research supplies, parts and tools for work orders.
  • Assist in inventory accuracy of parts and maintain records (work orders, SAP).
  • Follow safety and environmental policies and maintain area housekeeping.

Job description

Job Title: Maintenance Technician Reports To:Sr Manufacturing Process Engineer

Shift: Off-Shift 2nd or 3rd

Synopsis: Primary responsibility for completing maintenance assignments to build, repair and/or maintain all facility equipment in good operating condition as quickly, safely, and accurately as possible. Additional responsibilities fall within the production area in working as a team member on the assigned production line.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Perform maintenance responsibilities to support the overall maintenance budget and facility goals.
  • Multi- skilled and able to complete and assist with both mechanical and electrical components of the maintenance function.
  • Completes projects with minimal guidance showing a proactive attitude to minimizing equipment down time and lost production capability.
  • Trouble shoots mechanical devices and equipment in operation.
  • Sets up and operates maintenance equipment such as but not limited to lathe, drill press, grinders, band saws, cutting torch, welder, etc.
  • Uses hand tools and pneumatic tools to modify or repair parts and equipment.
  • Installs new or repairs and/or modifies hydraulic and pneumatic equipment as needed.
  • Improves reliability and uptime of all equipment.
  • Takes a proactive approach to equipment issues with a preventive maintenance mentality.
  • Operates forklift and hydraulic scissor lift as needed.
  • Researches supplies, parts and tools needed to complete work orders.
  • Assists in identifying an accurate inventory of parts.
  • Contributes to upkeep and updating of required record keeping to include work orders, SAP, etc.
  • Follows all applicable safety and environmental policies and guidelines while performing duties.
  • Maintains area housekeeping.
Following qualifications are required for this position:
  • Technical degree in industrial maintenance or industrial electricity preferred.
  • Previous maintenance experience regarding both disciplines of mechanical and electrical in a manufacturing environment.
  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Valid Drivers License
Conditions:

Work 8-hour shifts – work shift may vary as needed . Use of heavy motorized equipment including but not limited to fork trucks and/or track mobile. Must be able to work on elevated surfaces and not fear heights.
