Job summary

National Oilwell Varco in Louisiana seeks a Repair/Service Technician to maintain our generator sets and equipment fleet. You’ll perform repairs, preventative maintenance, and on-site service, ensuring reliability for customers.

Ideal candidates have mechanical/equipment repair experience, strong problem-solving and communication skills, and the ability to work independently in a physically demanding environment. Training is provided.

Qualifications

• Experience in mechanic work or equipment repair.
• Fresh technical school graduates encouraged to apply.
• Strong problem-solving and independent work ability.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting and work in physically demanding conditions.
• Knowledge of internal combustion engines, electrical circuits, and mechanical systems.
• Experience in repairing generators or power systems is preferred but not mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Conduct repairs, service, and preventative maintenance on generators and equipment.
• Perform equipment repairs and maintenance in the shop and on-site.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose machinery and equipment issues.
• Conduct routine inspections to ensure equipment functionality.
• Complete service reports and document all work.
• Provide technical support and resolve customer issues.
• Adhere to an after-hours on-call schedule once fully trained.
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
• Collaborate with the team to ensure efficient operations.
