Job summary

ASR Group in Crockett, CA is seeking a Quality Lab Tech to conduct chemical and physical tests of materials, analyze data, and support quality audits of the manufacturing process at our CANE sugar facilities.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years in a quality or lab role in manufacturing, familiarity with FDA/SQF compliance, and the ability to work with minimal supervision while documenting results and preparing reports for QA review.

Responsibilities

• Sets up laboratory equipment and instrumentation for tests and process control.
• Tests and analyzes materials used as ingredients in processes and products.
• Tests samples of manufactured products to verify conformity to specifications.
• Documents results of tests and analyses on standardized forms and prepares reports.
• Performs routine quality inspections of the manufacturing facility.
• Cleans, calibrates, and operates test equipment.
• Prepares chemical solutions according to standard formulas.
• All other duties as assigned

OVERVIEW:

The Quality Lab Tech conducts chemical and physical laboratory tests of solid materials and liquids and analyzes test data. The Tech will also perform routine Quality Audits of the Quality System, Manufacturing Process, and Facility. Investigates non-conforming materials and issues Holds, provides support for disposition of Held materials. Reviews completed records for conformance to GMP documentation requirements.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBLITIES:

• Sets up laboratory equipment and instrumentation required for tests, research, or process control.
• Tests and analyzes materials used as ingredients in processes and products.
• Tests samples of manufactured products to verify conformity to specifications.
• Documents results of tests and analyses on standardized forms, writes test reports, and prepares graphs and charts.
• Performs routine quality inspections of the manufacturing facility.
• Cleans, calibrates, and operates test equipment.
• Prepares chemical solutions according to standard formulas.
• All other duties as assigned

WORK EXPERIENCES:

• 3+ years in a Quality or Lab position in a manufacturing facility required, preferably food manufacturing
• Prior experience with FDA or SQF compliance preferred
• Experience conducting internal quality audits preferred
• Experience working with minimal to no supervision required

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

• High school diploma, general education degree (GED); or equivalent experience as determined by HR required
• Bachelors or Associates Degree in Chemistry, Biology, or a similar field preferred

PAY RATE:

• Hourly Rate: $34.04
