Job summary

Longshot Space Technologies Corporation invites motivated students to join as Test & Manufacturing Technician interns at our Alameda, CA site. You will work closely with mentors and engineers on projects that move hardware from concept to build.

This 9-week, part-time internship offers hands-on fabrication and assembly experience, exposure to design, test, electrical, software and mechanical teams, and a startup environment with room for growth.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in manufacturing, machining, electronics, or related program.
• 3+ months of hands-on fabrication, machining, or hardware builds.
• Comfort reading technical drawings and assembly instructions.
• Familiar with hand/power tools or basic machine shop equipment.
• Able to work in a collaborative team with engineers and managers.
• Adaptive to changing project requirements in a dynamic setting.

Responsibilities

• Assist manufacturing, test, and design teams on hardware builds.
• Apply knowledge to projects moving from concept to build under mentorship.

Position Overview

We are seeking motivated students to join us for Test & Manufacturing Technician. As an intern, you will work closely with your mentor and other employees who will help you apply your knowledge and grow your skills on projects that have a significant impact. If you've demonstrated a commitment to hands on learning and motivation to apply your skills outside of the classroom,

Internships are based at our Alameda, CA site and support manufacturing operations across our Design, Test, Electrical, Software, and Mechanical engineering teams, giving you exposure to how hardware moves from concept to build.

Job Details

• Part-time Internship, Non-Exempt
• Length of Internship: 9 weeks
• Compensation: $20-25/hour
• Location: Alameda, CA

Preferred Experience & Qualifications

• Enrolled in a manufacturing, machining, welding, electronics, mechatronics, or related technical/vocational program, or pursuing a degree in engineering, physics, math, or a related discipline.
• 3+ months of hands-on experience with fabrication, assembly, machining, or hardware builds (coursework, internships, personal projects, or team projects are applicable).
• Comfortable reading technical drawings, blueprints, or assembly instructions.
• Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and/or basic machine shop equipment is a plus.
• Ability to work well in an integrated collaborative team environment, including frequent interactions with technicians, engineers, and managers.
• Ability to work effectively in a dynamic professional setting with changing needs and requirements.
