Job summary

Longshot Space Technologies Corporation seeks a Test & Manufacturing Technician intern at its Alameda, CA site. This part-time, 9-week internship offers hands‑on experience across design, test, electrical, software and mechanical engineering teams, with mentorship and real-world hardware exposure.

Ideal candidates are enrolled in technical programs or pursuing engineering/physics/math degrees, with 3+ months of hands-on fabrication or hardware experience, and comfort reading drawings.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a manufacturing, machining, welding, electronics, mechatronics, or related technical/vocational program, or pursuing a degree in engineering, physics, math, or a related discipline.
• 3+ months of hands-on experience with fabrication, assembly, machining, or hardware builds (coursework, internships, personal projects, or team projects are applicable).
• Comfortable reading technical drawings, blueprints, or assembly instructions.
• Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and/or basic machine shop equipment is a plus.
• Ability to work well in an integrated collaborative team environment, including frequent interactions with technicians, engineers, and managers.
• Ability to work effectively in a dynamic professional setting with changing needs and requirements.

Position Overview

We are seeking motivated students to join us for Test & Manufacturing Technician. As an intern, you will work closely with your mentor and other employees who will help you apply your knowledge and grow your skills on projects that have a significant impact. Internships are based at our Alameda, CA site and support manufacturing operations across our Design, Test, Electrical, Software, and Mechanical engineering teams, giving you exposure to how hardware moves from concept to build.

Job Details

• Part-time Internship, Non-Exempt
• Length of Internship: 9 weeks
• Compensation: $20-25/hour
• Location: Alameda, CA

Preferred Experience & Qualifications
