Job description

The Role
In this role, you will be responsible for independently performing maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on facility and manufacturing equipment during the evening shift in a Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) pharmaceutical manufacturing environment. This role requires a strong technical background, the ability to work with minimal supervision, and a proactive approach to supporting production operations while ensuring equipment reliability and compliance with safety and regulatory standards.

Here’s What You’ll Do

  • Independently perform preventive and corrective maintenance on manufacturing, utility, and facility equipment.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with critical process equipment in real time to minimize downtime.
  • Execute work orders and document maintenance activities in Maximo.
  • Support equipment calibration, validation, and commissioning as needed.
  • Provide first-line troubleshooting and resolution for production-critical systems and escalate complex issues when necessary. Oversee and perform repairs and maintenance tasks.
  • Coordinate and prioritize maintenance activities, ensuring timely completion and minimal disruption to operations.
  • Develop and implement maintenance procedures and protocols to optimize the performance and lifespan of facility systems.
  • Monitor and maintain inventory of maintenance supplies and equipment, ensuring availability when needed.
  • Train and mentor junior technicians, providing guidance on best practices, safety protocols, and technical skills.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and promote a culture of safety within the maintenance team.
  • Additional duties as may be assigned from time to time.

Here’s What You’ll Need (Basic Qualifications)

  • High school diploma or GED required; Technical Certification or Associate’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Maintenance is preferred, with a minimum of 5 years of related experience.

Here’s What You’ll Bring to the Table (Preferred Qualifications)

  • Military training equivalent of above is acceptable.
  • Previous experience in a cGMP environment is a plus.
  • Familiarity with documentation practices used in a GMP environment is preferred.
  • Experience documenting work in a CMMS (MAXIMO) preferable.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex issues and develop effective solutions.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical information to team members and stakeholders.
  • Physical stamina and ability to perform manual labor.
  • In-depth knowledge of various facility systems, including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, and general maintenance.

  • This position is site-based, requiring you to be at Moderna’s site full-time. This position is not eligible for remote work.
