Who we are looking for:
We are currently searching for a Maintenance Technician to be based out of Louisville, KY. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, this person’s primary focus will be to maintain production and quality by ensuring operation of machinery and mechanical equipment. Also, this person will be responsible for conducting daily, weekly, and monthly preventive maintenance (PMs), and conducting repairs on plant equipment.

What you’ll do:

  • Ensure operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on production machines and equipment.
  • Perform maintenance on buildings and grounds.
  • Follow diagrams, sketches, operation manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications to troubleshoot malfunctions.
  • Locate sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation, listening for problems, and using precision measuring and testing instruments.
  • Remove defective parts by dismantling devices using hand and power tools.
  • Control downtime by informing production workers of routine preventive maintenance requirements.
  • Fabricate repair parts using machine shop tools and equipment.
  • Conserve maintenance resources by using equipment and supplies efficiently.
  • Assist the Production Department with die assembly, die cleanup, startups, and shutdowns.
  • Perform tool changes on Belling Machines and Perforators when required.
  • Monitor stock levels of maintenance supplies and spare parts, and inform the supervisor of items needing to be ordered.
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.

What you’ll bring:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Own hand tools and toolbox.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Experience with installation, disassembly, and maintenance of machinery and equipment.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Basic math skills for quick and accurate calculations.
  • Attention to detail, accuracy, time management, and organization.
  • Ability to adapt to changes and handle multiple demands calmly.
  • Embrace core values of Integrity, Respect, Excellence, Teamwork, and Accountability.

Within 3 months, you’ll:

  • Complete required training.
  • Develop relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Be familiar with Atkore’s Business System and your role’s importance.
