Overview

THE ROLE: The Technician I, Sanitation is responsible for various cleaning activities primarily related to packaging and different areas within the manufacturing facility. This position requires working efficiently and effectively to minimize production interruptions and ensure equipment is properly cleaned, complying with internal standards and regulatory guidelines to produce a high-quality product.

HOW YOU WOULD CONTRIBUTE:

  1. Follow all safety policies and procedures, including the proper use of PPE.
  2. Adhere to CGMPs, SOPs, and SSOPs.
  3. Follow safety, food regulatory, and operating procedures.
  4. Perform sanitation tasks while standing, lifting, crouching, etc., for extended periods.
  5. Follow routine verbal and written instructions.
  6. Perform Lock Out Tag Out procedures effectively.
  7. Conduct interior building inspections.
  8. Understand sanitary design and how to sanitize equipment effectively within the production area.
  9. Retrieve and deliver parts to and from production areas.
  10. Maintain 5S standards and demonstrate ability to perform them.
  11. Train and maintain chemical controls.
  12. Understand Master Sanitation schedules and proper documentation practices.
  13. Support major cleaning activities and department assignments.
  14. Perform additional duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications

Skills:

  • Ability to understand, speak, read, and write in English.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Handle multiple tasks, troubleshoot, and problem solve.
  • Work in a team environment and provide feedback.
  • Train new team members.

Experience: At least 6 months of sanitation experience in food, beverage, or dairy processing/manufacturing or a related field where skills are transferable.

Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent.

Supervisory Responsibilities: None.
