Qualifications

This is a local, field-based position supporting projects throughout the Greater Philadelphia region and surrounding markets. Candidates should be based within reasonable commuting distance of Solutionz, Inc.'s Malvern office. Regular travel to customer job sites is required.

Description

The Technician I is responsible for supporting the installation, integration, configuration, and commissioning of commercial audiovisual systems for Solutionz customers. This role works closely with project managers, field engineers, lead technicians, and customers to ensure systems are installed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with Solutionz quality standards. The Technician I assists with all phases of audiovisual deployment, including equipment installation, cable termination, rack fabrication, display mounting, and system testing. This position requires strong technical aptitude, attention to detail, a commitment to customer satisfaction, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a project team.

Responsibilities

• Perform professional audiovisual system installation and integration activities at customer sites.

• Install, terminate, label, dress, and test low-voltage cabling and related infrastructure.

• Assist with rack fabrication, equipment installation, and system integration activities.

• Install projection systems, flat-panel displays, display mounts, projection screens, ceiling speakers, microphones, cameras, and other AV equipment.

• Assist with video conferencing, unified communications, and collaboration technology deployments.

• Follow system drawings, wiring diagrams, scopes of work, and installation documentation.

• Support the configuration and testing of audiovisual systems to ensure proper functionality and performance.

• Maintain high standards of workmanship, quality control, and job site professionalism.

• Coordinate installation activities with project managers, lead technicians, field engineers, and customers.

• Verify materials, equipment, and installation requirements before beginning assigned tasks.

• Maintain installation schedules and communicate project status updates to project stakeholders.

• Troubleshoot installation issues and support corrective actions as directed by project leadership.

• Ensure compliance with company safety requirements and industry best practices.

• Complete required project documentation, daily reports, and time-tracking records accurately and on time.

• Maintain company tools, vehicles, equipment, and work areas in a safe, clean, and organized condition.

• Support commissioning, testing, punch-list completion, and project closeout activities.

• Provide a positive customer experience and maintain professional communication with clients at all times.

• Assist with the training and development of less experienced team members when appropriate.

• Travel to customer sites as required to support project objectives.

• Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.

• Familiarity with display mounting, projection systems, equipment racks, speakers, and related AV technologies.

• Ability to read and interpret system drawings, wiring diagrams, and construction documents.

• Working knowledge of hand tools, power tools, and installation equipment.

• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Commitment to workplace safety and quality workmanship.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and other PC-based applications.

• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.

• Ability to travel locally and work at customer job sites.

• Ability to lift, move, and transport equipment and materials as required.
