Rutgers University Correctional Health Care is seeking a Full Time Technician I for Edna Mahan Correctional Facility located in Clinton, NJ. The Technician I participates as a member of the clinical and administrative medical team at the Prison.

Among the duties for the position are: takes vital signs, assists with examinations, collects specimens, sterilizes equipment, manages supply stock, and processes medication orders with the pharmacy provider.

Qualifications

• Valid CMA, EMT, or CNA certification required.
• At least two (2) years of healthcare experience across multiple areas.

Responsibilities

• Assists physician/APP with examinations and procedures.

• Assists the physician/associate practitioner with procedures, including preparing the inmate for the examination.
• Obtains specimen collection and handling, including, but not limited to, drawing blood.
• Assists with the cleaning, sterilization and securing of equipment within the Health Service Unit.
• Maintains or assists in maintaining the supply stock in the Health Service Unit by ordering in a timely and appropriate manner.
• Maintains the supply stock in the examination rooms.
• Aggregates the orders of all medications and forwards to the pharmacy provider / local pharmacy
