Job summary

Charles River Biologics is seeking an Analytical Technician to perform daily lab tasks related to analytical services under supervision. You will prepare reagents, run tests, generate data and ensure timely GMP-compliant reporting for client samples.

The role requires a biology degree and 0–1 year of relevant lab experience, with knowledge of cGMPs and the ability to operate common lab instruments such as HPLC and spectrophotometers.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Biology or related discipline.
  • 0-1 years related experience in biological lab.
  • Knowledge of cGMPs or regulatory affairs preferred.
  • Ability to operate standard laboratory equipment (HPLC, Plate Reader, CE, spectrophotometer).
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills; attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Perform laboratory activities for analytical services including reagent preparation, maintenance, GMP reports, and routine testing of client samples.
  • Prepare reagents and test samples.
  • Generate analytical data and analyses within cGMP, meeting deadlines.
  • Update sample-tracking databases and maintain laboratory inventory.
  • Assist in electrophoretic, immunochemistry, chromatographic, and residual/excipient analyses.

Job Overview

Under direct supervision, responsible for performing daily laboratory tasks as they relate to Analytical testing services.

Job Description
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Perform laboratory activities necessary for analytical services including but not limited to, the reagent preparation, laboratory maintenance/monitoring, generation of routine GMP reports, and routine testing of client samples.
  • Prepare reagents and tests samples
  • Generate analytical data and analysis, within cGMP compliance, relevant to assigned analytical testing in a timely manner with respect to internal and client deadlines.
  • Update sample-tracking databases and maintain chemical inventory for the laboratory.
  • Specific primary areas of testing responsibility may include o Electrophoretic Analyses
  • Immunochemistry Analyses
  • Chromatographic Analyses
  • Residual/Excipient Analyses
  • Perform all other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor's degree (B.A./B.S.) or equivalent in Biology or related discipline.
  • Experience: 0-1 years related experience in biological lab.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted as a satisfactory substitute for the specific education and experience listed above.
  • Other: Knowledge of cGMPs or regulatory affairs pertaining to the pharmaceutical and biological industries is preferred. Knowledge of basic protein /peptide analytical techniques and ability to operate typical laboratory equipment, specifically HPLC, Plate Reader, CE, spectrophotometer and other laboratory equipment a plus. Strong organizational and prioritization skills required. Attention to detail and accuracy a must. Must possess excellent interpersonal skills to maintain communication across functional groups. Able to communicate effectively in a small group or one on one setting. Basic Microsoft Office skills are required
Compensation Data

The pay rate for this role is $24.70 per hour. Please note that salaries vary within the range based on factors including, but not limited to, experience, skills, education, certifications, and location.
