Job summary

Arctic Air, part of TurnPoint Services in New Jersey, seeks an experienced HVAC Install Lead Technician to manage residential and light commercial installation projects from start to finish, ensuring safety, efficiency and top-quality workmanship.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in HVAC installation with at least 2 years in a lead role, EPA Universal Certification, and strong leadership and communication skills to guide teams and coordinate with project managers on site.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of HVAC installation experience with 2+ years in a lead role.
  • Ability to read blueprints, schematics and installation manuals.
  • EPA Universal Certification required.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee installation of HVAC systems including furnaces and ACs.
  • Mentor apprentices and helpers to ensure quality workmanship.
  • Review job plans and specs for accurate installation and code compliance.
  • Perform equipment start-up, testing, and system balancing.
  • Ensure safety policies and regulations are followed on-site.

Role Overview

Technician HVAC Install Lead (2025-1154)

We are seeking an experienced and motivated HVAC Install Lead Technician to join our team. This role is responsible for leading residential and light commercial HVAC installation projects from start to finish, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. The ideal candidate has strong leadership skills, excellent technical knowledge, and a commitment to customer satisfaction and craftsmanship.

What You Bring
  • 5+ years of experience in HVAC installation with at least 2 years in a lead or supervisory role. - Proficient in installing and commissioning residential and light commercial HVAC systems. - Strong understanding of airflow, duct design, electrical systems, and controls. - Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and installation manuals. - EPA Universal Certification (required). - HVAC trade school certification or equivalent field experience. - Excellent leadership, communication, and problem‑solving skills. - Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. - Ability to lift up to 100 lbs and work in attics, crawlspaces, and outdoor environments.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and oversee installation of HVAC systems including furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, ductless systems, and ventilation components. - Direct and mentor installation apprentices and helpers to ensure proper procedures and quality workmanship. - Review job plans, drawings, and specifications to ensure accurate installation and code compliance. - Perform equipment start‑up, testing, and system balancing. - Inspect completed installations for proper operation and system performance. - Communicate effectively with customers, project managers, and supervisors regarding project progress and any issues that arise. - Ensure all safety policies, company standards, and local regulations are followed on‑site. - Maintain accurate installation records and assist with project documentation. - Monitor job site inventory and ensure proper use and care of company tools and equipment.
