Job summary

Harnish Group Inc. is seeking an entry-level Helper Technician to support master technicians at our Tukwila, WA site. The role involves inspecting, cleaning, prepping and testing Marine Diesel Engines, plus basic troubleshooting and repairs as needed.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma (or equivalent) and a valid driver's license, and must be able to stand for long periods. Experience with CAT products is a plus. We offer comprehensive benefits and opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or equivalent or vocational training equivalent.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Ability to stand up to eight hours per day and perform bending, twisting, and kneeling.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, clean, prep, and test Marine Diesel Engines.
• Service equipment at required intervals and perform minor troubleshooting and repairs.
• Assist other heavy equipment technicians in various repairs as needed.

Job description

We are looking for a highly motivated and organized individual who is looking for an entry level technician position based out of our Tukwila WA Site.

The Helper Technician role will be responsible for assisting master level technicians in the Field. The position requires basic knowledge of heavy machinery in order to conduct initial inspection of equipment.

Salary range starting at $26.10 per hour.

About the Position

• Responsible for inspecting, cleaning, prepping, and testing Marine Diesel Engines.
• Servicing the equipment at the necessary intervals, as well as minor troubleshooting and repairs.

Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to

• Assisting other heavy equipment technicians in various repairs when necessary.

Qualifications & Experience Needed

• A high school diploma or equivalent or a graduate of a 2-4 year vocational technical school training institution or equivalent experience is required.
• A valid driver's license is vital.
• This role requires the ability to stand up to eight hours per day and includes twisting, bending, squatting, sitting stooping and kneeling.
• Experience working at a Caterpillar (CAT) dealership or with CAT products is ideal.
