Job summary
Walmart in Valdosta, GA is seeking a Technician, Facility Services, Exterior Services-DOT to maintain safe, clean exterior facilities, operate heavy machinery, and manage seasonal upkeep to meet regulatory standards.

Qualifications
- 21 years of age or older.
- Valid state-issued driver’s license.
- No DUI/DWI/OUI or reckless driving in 3 years.
- No more than two moving violations in 3 years for CMV.
- No serious FMCSA violations in 3 years for CMV.
- Successful completion of a DOT physical and MEC pre-hire.
- Ability to read and speak English per FMCSR 391.11(b)(2).
- 2 years’ experience in landscaping/gardening.

This role involves managing seasonal maintenance, operating heavy machinery, and ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations. The technician supports cost control through effective resource management and collaborates with management and third-party providers to uphold quality standards. The Exterior Services team ensures Walmart’s outdoor areas are well-maintained through expert landscaping, mowing, and facility upkeep. - Proven ability to operate and maintain heavy machinery and powered equipment safely and efficiently.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA and EPA regulations, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental standards.
- Experience in managing facility exterior services, including seasonal maintenance and snow removal operations.
- Skilled in troubleshooting, quality assurance inspections, and resolving customer concerns effectively.
- Competence in budgeting, cost control, and sourcing materials and equipment for repairs and upgrades.
- Ability to lead third-party providers, coach associates, and conduct performance evaluations.

The hourly wage range for this position is $19.00 - $35.00* *The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location. Additional compensation in the form of premiums may be paid in amounts ranging from $0.35 per hour to $3.00 per hour in specific circumstances. Premiums may be based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed. Multiple premiums may apply if applicable criteria are met.

- No convictions for DUI, DWI, OUI, or reckless driving involving alcohol or drugs within the last three (3) years.
- No more than two (2) moving violations in the last three (3) years, if driving a commercial motor vehicle.
- No serious traffic violations (as defined by Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations) in the last three (3) years, if operating a commercial motor vehicle.
- No preventable accidents (as defined by Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations) in the last three (3) years, if operating a commercial motor vehicle.
- Successful completion of a DOT physical and medical certification pre- hire.
- As required by section 391.11(b)(2) of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, ability to read and speak in the English language.
- 2 years’ experience in the landscaping/gardening industry
- Able to successfully complete a DOT physical and secure medical certification during pre-hire contingency and be able to maintain a minimum of a 90 day Medical Examiner’s Certification (MEC) card, Associate’s degree or equivalent in Engineering, Maintenance, Construction Management, or related area.
- Experience in third-party management.
- Experience using intermediate level functionality of word processing, spreadsheet, email, and presentation software (for example, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Proficient in speaking and understanding Spanish.
- State/local licensing where required (for example, Florida, Texas, California, etc).
