A leading community service organization is looking for a Maintenance Technician responsible for the upkeep and repairs of facilities. This role requires a mix of skills in plumbing, electrical work, and carpentry, along with the ability to perform physical tasks related to maintenance and repairs across multiple facilities. Candidates should have a high school diploma and relevant repair experience. The position also includes responsibilities for snow removal and maintaining sanitary conditions.
Summary: Under the guidance of the Facilities Maintenance Director or designate, this position is responsible for the maintenance and repair of Arc facilities and grounds. The Maintenance Technician is responsible for completion of repairs as assigned, inspection of facilities, implementation of preventive maintenance programs, and completion of maintenance requirements in the areas of plumbing, painting, carpentry, HVAC and electrical repair. This position will require significant physical exertion such as but not limited to digging, lifting heavy material, climbing and snow removal. This position may also be assigned facility and grounds maintenance tasks including but not limited to cleaning and maintaining a sanitary environment in and around all Arc facilities to mitigate the spread of germs and surface viruses.

This position operates in an indoor and or outside fieldwork setting where exposure to weather elements, dirt, and dust, unpleasant smells, and/or loud noises are possible indoor temperature fluctuation on occasion.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to: verbally communicate with others, maintain a stationary position (standing and sitting), move/traverse, kneel, bend, and reach with hands and arms for extended periods of time, lift up to 10 lbs, maneuver an occupied wheelchair, (navigate a Hoyer lift and or drive a 6 person passenger van - depending on the position).
