Job summary

The Electrical Technician role at TurnPoint Services (T. Webber Plumbing, Heating, Air & Electric) in the Hudson Valley area involves conducting electrical installations, troubleshooting, and maintenance for residential and commercial customers.

You will work to ensure code compliance, safety, and high-quality workmanship, with strong communication and teamwork. Ideal candidates have at least 3 years of electrical experience, a Journeyman or Master Electrician license preferred, and a high

  • Minimum 3 years of electrical service, maintenance, or installation experience.
  • Licensing: State Journeyman or Master Electrician License preferred; valid driver's license and clean driving record required.
  • Technical skills: Strong understanding of electrical theory, wiring methods, panels, load calculations, grounding/bonding, and low-voltage systems.
  • Safety knowledge: Familiarity with OSHA and NFPA 70E standards; PPE and lockout/tagout procedures.
  • Education: High school diploma or GED required; technical/vocational training preferred.
  • Soft skills: Professional communication, teamwork, and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnostics & Repair: Troubleshoot and repair electrical circuits, panels, switches, outlets, lighting, and other electrical components.
  • Installations: Perform new circuit installations, lighting upgrades, panel replacements, EV chargers, and other system enhancements.
  • Preventive Maintenance: Conduct routine inspections, load testing, and maintenance to prevent breakdowns and ensure code compliance.
  • Safety & Code Compliance: Follow NEC, NFPA, and company safety standards; ensure all work passes inspections and meets local codes.
  • Documentation: Complete service tickets accurately, including materials used, time, and detailed notes on work performed.
  • Customer Service: Communicate clearly with customers, explain repair options, and provide recommendations to improve system performance or safety.
  • Team Collaboration: Coordinate with supervisors, dispatchers, and other trades to complete projects on time and within budget.
  • Equipment Care: Maintain company tools, testing equipment, and service vehicle in clean and working order.

Role Overview


The Electrical Technician will perform a variety of electrical installations, troubleshooting, repairs, and maintenance for residential and commercial customers. The ideal candidate has strong technical knowledge, excellent communication skills and a commitment to safety and quality workmanship. This role is essential for ensuring that electrical systems operate efficiently, safely, and in compliance with code.


What You Bring
