Job summary

Blake Brothers in Huntsville, AL seeks an Electrical Technician to install, troubleshoot, and maintain electrical systems for residential and commercial customers. You will work with a safety-first mindset, follow codes, and deliver quality workmanship.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years of electrical service experience, license preferred, strong communication, and the ability to collaborate with teams on projects from start to finish.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of electrical service, maintenance, or installation experience.
• State Journeyman or Master Electrician License preferred; valid driver’s license required.
• Strong understanding of electrical theory, wiring methods, panels, load calculations, grounding/bonding, and low-voltage systems.
• Familiarity with OSHA and NFPA 70E standards; PPE and lockout/tagout procedures.
• HS diploma or GED; technical/vocational training preferred.
• Professional communication, teamwork, and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Diagnostics and repair of circuits, panels, switches, outlets, lighting, and other electrical components.
• Installations: new circuit installations, lighting upgrades, panel replacements, EV chargers, and system enhancements.
• Preventive maintenance: routine inspections, load testing, and maintenance to prevent breakdowns and ensure code compliance.
• Safety and code compliance: follow NEC, NFPA, and company safety standards; ensure all work passes inspections and meets local codes.
• Documentation: complete service tickets with materials used, time, and detailed notes on work performed.
• Customer service: communicate clearly with customers and provide recommendations to improve system performance.
• Team collaboration: coordinate with supervisors, dispatchers, and other trades to complete projects on time and within budget.
• Equipment care: maintain company tools, testing equipment, and service vehicle in clean and working order.

Role Overview

• The Electrical Technician will perform a variety of electrical installations, troubleshooting, repairs, and maintenance for residential and commercial customers. The ideal candidate has strong technical knowledge, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to safety and quality workmanship. This role is essential for ensuring that electrical systems operate efficiently, safely, and in compliance with code.

What You Bring

• Minimum of 3 years of electrical service, maintenance, or installation experience.
