Job summary

Align Production Systems in Decatur, IL is seeking an Electrical Technician to detail electrical designs and assemble Release Packages under the direction of an Electrical Engineer, enabling timely panel designs and implementation.

This role also performs mechanical assembly as needed, reads and interprets schematics, troubleshoots systems, and may travel to customer sites for field service or installation support; 2–4 years electrical design experience is required.

Qualifications

  • 2–4 years of electrical circuits and design experience.
  • One-year certificate from a college or technical school, or 3–6 months of related experience.
  • Control panel building experience required.
  • Experience in mechanical assembly.
  • Highly developed electrical and mechanical skills.

Responsibilities

  • Detail equipment schematics as directed by Electrical Engineer(s).
  • Build control panels in accordance with approved electrical designs.
  • Prepare and interpret electrical schematics.
  • Make as-built changes after a job is completed.
  • Apply a strong understanding of electrical circuits and design principles.
  • Apply working knowledge of programming software as needed.
  • Troubleshoot electrical systems and components.
  • Travel occasionally to customer sites for field service or installation support.
  • Perform mechanical assembly duties as assigned, supporting production schedules alongside electrical panel work.
  • Read and interpret mechanical drawings and assembly instructions when performing mechanical assembly tasks.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in a plant/shop floor environment and is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
