We are immediately hiring a Permanent Full-Time Experienced Mid-Level Diesel Technician (CDL A or B REQUIRED) to support our Truck Fleet at Ryder in San Diego, California.

Benefits:

• Hourly Pay: $38.01 per hour
• Certification Bonus: $100 for each new ASE Certification obtained, up to $700
• Quarterly Bonus: Up to $500 every quarter
• Schedule: Monday–Friday, weekends off

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Vocational/technical certifications or post-secondary degrees preferred
• Basic tools required
• Experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas/diesel engines, including routine maintenance like oil changes, brake, and tire work
• Two or more years of relevant classroom training and work experience preferred
• Valid CDL Class A preferred, but must obtain within 6 months of hire

Note: To drive Ryder vehicles, you must:

• Obtain CDL within 6 months
• Pass Ryder drug test, DOT physical, road test, background, and motor vehicle checks

Responsibilities:

• Perform vehicle maintenance and repairs
• Conduct component inspections and preventive maintenance
• Diagnose mechanical and electronic issues using diagnostic tools
• Identify root causes and perform repairs
• Replace defective components
• Assist with facility maintenance
• Communicate with customers/drivers to clarify issues
• Use shop management systems and documentation
• Follow safety and compliance guidelines
• Support operations as needed, including service island duties
