Ryder Supply Chain Solutions in Lexington, Kentucky is hiring a Mid-Level Diesel Technician to maintain and repair heavy-duty vehicles. The role offers a stable career path with weekly pay and comprehensive benefits. Shift is second shift, 2:00 pm – 10:30 pm, Monday–Friday, weekends off.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Vocational/Technical certifications preferred.
• Basic tools required and CDL-A preferred.
• Experience with routine preventative maintenance on heavy vehicles is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Performs vehicle maintenance and repair duties.
• Diagnoses mechanical and electronic issues using diagnostic tools.
• Performs preventive maintenance and inspections.
• Identifies root causes and performs repairs as needed.
• Interacts with drivers to determine nature of the issue.
• Ensures compliance with safety and DOT/MOT guidelines.

• Hourly Pay:$30.50 per hour
• Certification Bonus of $100 for each New ASE Certification Obtained up to $700

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Vocational or Technical Certification Post Secondary degree or Technical Certifications, preferred
• Basic tools, required
• Demonstrated aptitude and applied experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines including:
  • Routine preventative maintenance, which should include oil changes, brake and tire work, required
• Two (2) years or more of a combination of classroom training and work experience in required experience, preferred
• Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) CLASS A, preferred

Responsibilities

• Performs vehicle maintenance and repair duties
• Performs standard vehicle maintenance
• Performs standard component inspections and repairs
• Performs preventive maintenance
• Diagnoses standard mechanical and electronic problems, utilizing diagnostic computer when applicable
• Identifies root cause of basic failures/conditions and perform repairs as required
• Replaces defective components as instructed
• Performs facility maintenance duties
• Interacts with customers/drivers to properly determine nature of complaint once assigned a task
• Utilizes key functions of Shop Management System and electronic documentation available
• Works in accordance with all federal/ provincial and corporate compliance guidelines (i.e., safety, DOT, MOT)
• Performs other support duties as required to support operations. These could include but are not limited to Service Island support
