GENERAL PURPOSE

To troubleshoot, maintain, and enhance the accuracy, reliability, and system control data credibility of PLC and PC-based automation systems. Utilize building management system interface tools to achieve efficiency. Communicate and partner with internal engineering staff and equipment vendors.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

1. Exhibit the ability to troubleshoot and perform basic design of PLC logic, operator interface terminals, energy management systems, and electrical installations.
2. Interpret and improve automated system performance parameters at macro/micro levels.
3. Perform preventive maintenance for controls and organize electrical/control parts inventory.
4. Coordinate with vendors for installation of electrical or control systems as instructed.
5. Maintain accurate records such as work orders, timesheets, and parts requests.
6. Maintain parts procedures and inventory control.
7. Assist other maintenance department members as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

• Familiarity with HVAC principles for Building Management Systems (BMS).
• Knowledge of electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic systems, robotic operation, and vision systems; ability to assemble and modify manufacturing equipment.
• Ability to connect, test, and maintain electrical systems for climate control, security, and communications.
• Understanding of 3-phase distribution and power transmission systems.
• Experience with testing 3-phase equipment below 480V.
• Familiarity with energy management software and hardware.
• Knowledge of power systems grounding and safety practices.
• Familiarity with Motor Control Centers (MCC).
• Understanding of Arc Flash hazards.
• Experience with electrical construction and configuration of automation components such as Solenoids, Beacons, Proximity Switches.
• Knowledge of PLC hardware like Pico Controllers, MicroLogix 1500, ControlLogix, SLC 500, and 1794 Flex I/O systems.
• Plus, familiarity with WAGO-I/O, Siemens Step 7, CAN, B&R X67 I/O systems is a plus.
• Flexibility to work any shift including weekends.
• Ability to work independently, safely, and with limited supervision.
• Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/ADA

Work requires standing, walking, hearing, pushing, pulling, reaching, bending, stooping, talking, handling objects, and lifting up to 50 lbs. Must be able to see printed and electronic information. Full-time in-office presence required for team interactions and client support.
