Lilly is seeking a Clean Utilities Technician - Night Shift to support the manufacturing process by starting up, operating, monitoring, maintaining and shutting down clean utilities in Clean Utility mechanical rooms.

The role emphasizes teamwork, safety, and adherence to cGMP; candidates should have 3+ years of industrial maintenance, strong mechanical aptitude, and experience with water systems and pumps. Day-to-day work includes coordination with operations and contractors.

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED.
• Minimum 3 years of industrial maintenance experience.
• Authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
• Must pass background check and drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Support the manufacturing process through start-up, operation, monitoring, maintaining and shutdown of clean utility systems and equipment.
• Collaborate with Operations to understand customer needs and provide effective service.
• Improve equipment uptime and line efficiency through troubleshooting and engineering changes.
• Perform preventative and predictive maintenance on clean utilities and related systems.
• Maintain water rooms and equipment including WFI stills, clean steam generators and piping.
• Document validated equipment and systems and coordinate with other departments.

Responsibilities:

• The focus of the Clean Utilities Technician - Night Shift is to support the manufacturing process through involvement with start‑up, operation, monitoring, maintaining and shutdown of clean utility systems and equipment within Clean Utility mechanical rooms.
• The Clean Utilities Technician - Night Shift is expected to understand the needs and requirements of the customer (Operations); must be able to work effectively with customers, handle customer questions with tact and understanding while displaying good customer service.

Key Objectives/Deliverables:

• This role is expected to improve equipment uptime, line efficiency, and increase overall equipment effectiveness in a production environment by condition monitoring, troubleshooting, and assisting in engineering changes.
• Must possess a good mechanical aptitude to troubleshoot and repair equipment while, following departmental rules and regulations.
• Must be willing to work with safety as a primary focus and abide by applicable safety procedures and practices.
• Performing preventative and predictive maintenance on related clean utilities and systems that support manufacturing.
• Maintaining water rooms and related equipment such as pumps, motors, Water for Injection (WFI) stills, Clean Steam Generators and related piping.
• Performing activities such as troubleshooting, hands on repairs on all related clean utility equipment and systems, and WFI point of use flushing.
• Maintaining documents and records on all validated equipment and systems.
• Collaborating with other departments and contractors on scheduling repairs and maintenance of clean utility systems.
• Communicating with management regarding change documentation as necessary.
• Following current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs) and Good Business Practices.
• Communicating and coordinating with each department and within Facilities Management when planned and unplanned work events occur.

Basic Qualifications:

• High school diploma/GED
• Minimum 3 Years of industrial maintenance experience
• Qualified applicants must be authorized to work in the United States on a full‑time basis. Lilly will not provide support for or sponsor work authorization or visas for this role, including but not limited to F-1 CPT, F-1 OPT, F-1 STEM OPT, J-1, H-1B, TN, O-1, E-3, H-1B1, or L-1.
• Must satisfy background check and drug screening requirements.

Additional Skills/Preferences:

• Must be able to speak, read and write English at a sufficient level to communicate technical and business information effectively.
• Work experience with purified water systems, wastewater and pumps is a strong plus
• Must be able to effectively use business software programs, such as, Maximo, Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Office Suite and other required software programs.
• Must be able to effectively work in a team environment.

Physical considerations include the ability to work with or around equipment, climb ladders and stairs and use PPE (Personal Protective Equipment). He/she may be exposed to harsh weather conditions as part of the job.

Good, all‑around hands‑on experience with repair of equipment.

Use basic troubleshooting equipment such as multi‑meters, calipers etc.

Additional Information:

Overtime may be required during shutdowns, emergency situations, or periods of heavy workloads.

The Clean Utilities Technician - Night Shift will work in and around potentially dangerous and hazardous equipment, powders, liquids and gases. Safety is paramount for this position.

Day shift role. Will transition to a night shift 12‑hr 2‑2‑3 schedule in the future.

Actual compensation will depend on a candidate’s education, experience, skills, and geographic location. The anticipated wage for this position is $21.27 - $41.25
