Getting started means getting up to date with all that Shentel has to offer. We’ll teach you to install and service Shentel products in our customers' homes. You’ll receive online classroom training and comprehensive hands-on experience in the field with experienced industry experts in home installation of broadband services and WiFi networks. You will learn to handle power tools, telecom equipment, meters and apps, computers and software, pole and ladder safety, and more. We provide the gear, and the knowledge you gain will make you a valuable in-home service professional. Support is available if you need a quick refresher or higher-level backup.

Physical Requirements:
This is a physical job, so you should have the strength and flexibility to:
• Move over all types of terrain in all kinds of weather while carrying tools and equipment
• Operate weight-bearing equipment, such as gaffs, safety harnesses, extension ladders, and carry fully loaded gear.

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Install, troubleshoot, and repair Internet, phone, and digital video services at both residential and business locations.
• Install, troubleshoot, and repair wiring/cabling and hardware supporting these services, including fiber, coax, and Ethernet cabling.
• Program, configure, and troubleshoot customer premise equipment supporting video, phone, and Internet services.
• Install, maintain, and replace coaxial cables, fiber optic, and copper lines within customer premises.
• Support system maintenance by resolving complex network issues.
• Install inline devices such as coax amplifiers, line extenders, taps, splitters, power supplies, and fiber optic splitters.
• Use test and measurement equipment to validate service performance.
• Observe all safety procedures at all times.
• Support on-call rotation and work periodically on weekends.
• Work conditions include climbing, working in attics and crawl spaces, at heights, and driving across service territories in a company vehicle.
