Blacksburg, VA Early Career Entry Level Field Personnel January 24, 2024

Stevenson Consulting, Inc. is a well-established engineering firm specializing in geotechnical engineering, construction materials testing, and special inspections. We are looking for a full-time entry-level TECHNICIAN to join our Blacksburg, VA team.

Responsibilities:

• Observing and testing samples of soils, aggregates, concrete, masonry, and asphalt on client’s job sites
• Preparing daily field reports for management review
• Assisting with laboratory testing and other assigned tasks as needed
• Daily interaction with clients and team members

Required:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 3 years’ experience in the construction industry
• Ability to lift 50 lbs and team lift 70 lbs
• Ability to climb ladders
• Ability to work off-shift hours, including some weekends
• Ability to work outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions
• Valid driver’s license, with satisfactory driving history
• Ability to pass background screen
• Work experience in the construction industry
• ACI Concrete Field Grade I
• Nuclear Safety
• VDOT Soils and Aggregate
