Job summary

Accurate Corrosion Control, Inc. seeks a field technician to perform electrical and survey related tasks in construction environments. Responsibilities include wiring, conduit work, panel installation, and data collection with meters and loggers.

Qualifications

  • OQ (Operator Qualification) may be required.
  • English literacy for communication and safety.

Responsibilities

  • General electrical work (low voltage, wiring, testing).
  • Conduit running and wire pulling; install panels and cabinets.
  • Data collection using data loggers, voltmeters and equipment.
  • Operate small construction equipment and power tools.
  • Drive company vehicle; perform maintenance and cleaning.
  • Work with utility reps and public; independent or small crews.
  • Submit accurate timesheets and dailies on time.

The scope of work for the position is to perform construction and/or survey related functions such as, but not limited to, the essential duties listed below.

  • Engages in general basic electrical work. (low voltage, wiring and testing)
  • Conduit running, wire pulling, installing electric panels and cabinets.
  • Engages and performs data collection using data loggers, volt meters and other technical equipment.
  • Perform pipe and soil reads, isolated steel reads, and rectifier reads.
  • Enter reads and writing work requests (“WR”) into database.
  • Use of hand shovels, dig around existing utility structures.
  • Use of hand and power tools, power equipment and electronic meters.
  • Operation of small construction equipment. (trenchers, excavators, cutting saws)
  • Drive company vehicle responsibly and also perform regular maintenance, cleaning of vehicle and equipment.
  • Work closely with utility representatives along with daily interaction with the general public.
  • Ability to work independently or with small crews.
  • Complete accurate Timesheets and Dailies and submit on time.
  • Additional duties may be assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities
  • This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.
Requirements
Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred, but not required.
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record per insurance requirements.
  • Required to pass a pre-employment DOT (Department of Transportation) drug screening and may be required to pass a DOT physical, as well as being subject to random drug testing throughout employment.
  • Must pass client required Operator’s Qualifications (“OQ”).
  • If assigned to the Nuclear Services Department, clearance acceptance qualifications per client will be required.
Knowledge/ Skills /Abilities
  • Obtain and pass OSHA 30 training required.
  • Obtain and pass MSHA preferred.
  • Utility experience, mapping and basic electricity knowledge preferred.
  • Must have ability to work and communicate with all levels of employees and Clients.
  • Mechanical and Electrical aptitude preferred.
  • Experience using hand tools preferred.
  • Basic Operator Qualifications preferred.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate in English to ensure safe and efficient operations.
  • Responsible and self-motivated.
Physical And Work Environment Demands
  • Frequent travel required. (with overnight stay)
  • Frequent overtime required.
  • Work outdoors in various climates including extreme weather conditions.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. or more, overhead, kneeling, crouching, standing, as well as carry for a minimum of 50 feet.
  • Walk for extended distances in varying conditions and terrain.
  • Use of hand tools and electronic meters.
  • Driving a vehicle to and from work sites in all types of weather conditions and in heavy traffic and/or at night.
