Job summary

Holt of California is seeking an experienced Field Service Technician to repair and service rental equipment across customer sites in California. You will drive to machine locations and perform diagnostics, maintenance and repairs to ensure optimal operation.

High school diploma or GED and 5 years of equipment experience are required. A valid driver’s license and clean DMV record are mandatory. This role offers steady work with competitive hourly wages and opportunities for advancement.

Responsibilities

• Write detailed service reports.
• Perform preventive maintenance and safety checks.

POSITION SUMMARY

Repairs and maintains all types of rental equipment, which includes driving to machine location.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Drives to machine location.
• Handles all types of field service calls.
• Disassembles unit and inspects parts for wear.
• Repairs, overhauls, or replaces:
• Pistons, rods, gears, valves, and bearings.
• Replaces carburetors, blowers, generators, starters, pumps, and distributors.
• Repair or adjust headlights, radios, heaters, mirrors, and windshield wipers.
• Working knowledge of ignition system, lights, and instrument panels.
• Realigns and adjusts brakes.
• Writes service reports.
• Other duties as assigned.

SKILLS

• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos.
• Ability to write service reports.
• Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers and other employees of the organization.
• Ability to add, subtracts, multiply and divides in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

High school or GED and/or five years of equipment experience are required.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Must have a valid driver license class C or higher. Must have a clean D.M.V. report.

COMPENSATION

Wage Range $36.00 to $38.00 Hourly

Wage depends on knowledge, skills and ability to perform the responsibilities of the job.
