The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of diagnostic experience, EV exposure, strong communication, and a valid driver's license. The position reports to the Service Manager and offers comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; automotive certifications preferred.
  • Must own and maintain current tools for responsibilities.
  • EV certification and other specialty certifications highly preferred.
  • 3–5 years of automotive technician experience with diagnostics and repairs.
  • Strong computer skills to operate diagnostics software and tools.
  • Master OEM certification or ability to complete training is required.
  • Excellent communication to document diagnostics, repairs, and interactions with customers and team members.
  • Strong problem-solving and attention to detail.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform advanced diagnostics and troubleshooting to identify vehicle issues.
  • Complete repairs and maintenance per manufacturer specs (engine, transmission, electrical, brakes).
  • Adhere to OEM master technician training requirements.
  • Document repairs and orders clearly for customers.
  • Mentor and support other technicians on complex repairs and best practices.
  • Maintain productivity and quality with rework rate under 1%.
  • Stay updated on automotive technologies including EV systems.
  • Use specialty tools and diagnostics equipment as required.
  • Collaborate with service team to ensure smooth diagnostics to repair flow.
  • Handle additional duties as assigned.

Salary Range: $32.00 To $40.00 Hourly

The Technician A is responsible for advanced diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance, ensuring vehicles are running smoothly and efficiently. This is an opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment where your skills and passion for the automotive industry will shine.

Responsibilities

  • Perform advanced diagnostics and troubleshooting to accurately identify mechanical issues in vehicles.
  • Complete repairs and maintenance in accordance with manufacturer specifications, including but not limited to engine, transmission, electrical, and brake systems.
  • Adhere to all OEM master technician training requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with all cause-and-correction procedures, maintaining clear and concise communication on repair orders and customer documents.
  • Mentor and support other technicians in the shop, providing guidance on complex repairs and best practices.
  • Maintain productivity and quality of work with a rework rate of less than 1%.
  • Stay up to date with current automotive technologies, including electric vehicle (EV) systems and emerging automotive trends.
  • Utilize specialty tools and diagnostic equipment necessary for the role.
  • Collaborate effectively with the service team to ensure a seamless customer experience from diagnostics to repair completion.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

Ideal Skills & Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional certifications in automotive technology preferred.
  • Must possess and maintain current tools needed to perform job responsibilities.
  • EV certification and other specialty certifications highly preferred.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as an automotive technician with proven expertise in diagnostics and repairs.
  • Strong computer skills, with the ability to use modern diagnostic tools and software to diagnose and repair vehicle issues.
  • Master OEM certification or the ability to complete training is required.
  • Excellent communication skills to clearly document diagnostics, repairs, and interact with both customers and team members.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Must have a valid driver's license.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
