Summary of Position:

Diagnose and repair engine, transmission, brake, suspension, electrical, hydraulic, body components, and systems related to heavy and light-duty trucks, including gasoline, diesel, and CNG systems. May include welding and fabrication.

Essential Job Functions:

  1. Diagnose mechanical problems and perform repairs to maximize safety and productivity. Complete repairs identified on DVIR and repair orders.
  2. Communicate with managers and drivers about vehicle issues and preventive techniques.
  3. Complete all required paperwork promptly and accurately.
  4. Follow all safety policies and procedures.
  5. Maintain a clean, safe work area in compliance with standards.
  6. Use vehicle electronic systems to interpret failure modes and initiate or assign repairs.
  7. Conduct safety checks on vehicles and equipment.
  8. Perform repairs using Factory Service Manuals.
  9. Uphold high standards of ethics and dependability.

Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of suspension, brake, electrical, and hydraulic system inspections, diagnosis, and repairs.
  • Proficiency with diagnostic tools and interpreting service manuals.
  • Ability to complete work within suggested repair times and estimate time and materials.
  • Ability to assist and guide assistant technicians and shop helpers.
  • CDL Class B preferred within 12 months; no CDL required.

Other Responsibilities:

  • Attend and participate in training courses as assigned.
  • Stay updated on current technology used by Waste Pro.
  • Perform any additional duties assigned by the supervisor.

Physical and Work Environment Requirements:

Work Environment:
